    Managing Director

    With 25 years of media relations experience in healthcare and medicine, Tara’s passionate attitude and in-depth understanding of medical science and the media environment allow her to achieve success for clients. Developing meaningful messaging and story angles that meet the needs of reporters and clients alike, Tara has secured placements in outlets ranging from Good Housekeeping, Wall Street Journal, and “Good Morning America” to Cardiology Today, Drug Discovery and Development, and Oncology Times.     Having held executive positions at renowned public relations agencies in New York, Boston and Denver, including Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, Julie has advised numerous biotech and pharmaceutical companies including Amgen, Cell Genesys, Essilor, Merck, Pfizer, Sepracor, Wyeth-Ayerst during the last 25 years. Julie’s strategic insights, attention to detail and focus on exceeding client expectations have allowed her to successfully drive communications campaigns that have been instrumental in forging relationships with key audience and attracting media attention.     Jennifer has an exceptional ability to understand and communicate both the business and human sides of biotech and pharmaceutical issues. She is highly skilled at overcoming complex communications challenges in the areas of branding, positioning, employee engagement, advocacy relations, and media relations. Over the past decade, she has developed and executed programming for a wide range of products ranging from orphan diseases to allergies and macular degeneration.   • Caitlin HendersonCaitlin Henderson

    Account Director

    Having worked in a hospital setting in various roles, Caitlin brings a valuable communications perspective to TellMed. At Spaulding Rehabilitation Center, she worked clinically in the stroke, neurology and burn units, and provided clinical care to adolescents who had experienced Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, working closely with addiction counselors to support the children and affected family members. Switching to the corporate side of the business, Caitlin managed home healthcare divisions in NJ and RI, giving her the opportunity to oversee sales and marketing initiatives. She has developed strong expertise in managing broad communications and social media efforts, and clients including EMD Serono and Bay Area Lyme Foundation have benefited from her abilities. With coursework that included anatomy, microbiology, nutrition, and human growth and development, Caitlin holds a Bachelor of Science degree specializing in communication sciences and disorders from Elms College.   • Caren Begun

    SVP, Media Relations

    With 26 years of public relations experience, predominately specializing in healthcare media relations, Caren is passionate, sincere, and skillful in her ability to build quality relationships with journalists, clients, experts, patients, and caregivers, related to research, regulatory actions, disease awareness, and much more. She has prompted thousands of media placements in mainstream, local and trades outlets including Wall Street Journal, Philadelphia Inquirer, Health, Good Morning America, Doctor Radio, and Healio. While the primary focus of her career has been supporting small-, medium- and large-sized pharmaceutical, biotechnology, diagnostics, and medical device companies from the agency side, Caren also brings knowledge from the academic side as the former senior cancer communications officer at Penn Medicine. Caren is a graduate of SUNY Oneonta, where she completed coursework in business and communications. She loves using her creative talents to help others and is often involved in community volunteer efforts, such as sewing masks and scrub caps, and photographing rescue animals to help find their forever homes.     With a background in marketing and corporate branding, Sheri has spent the last 25 years developing masterful design campaigns for print and web, including engaging logos, PowerPoint presentations, social media graphics, tradeshow displays, collateral materials, infographics, and design/layout for catalogs and annual reports. Her clients have included EMD Serono, Rallybio and Kaiser Permanente, and her designs demonstrate each company’s business “persona”, taking into account the audiences, content and messaging.     Media Relations and Patient Advocacy

    Sandra’s broad communications background offers her unique insights which have helped enhance and expand public relations efforts. Her career started at D’Arcy Macius Benton & Bowles (now MediaVest) in media buying. She has also worked at Wyndham Worldwide where she was responsible for employee communications and events, and held communications roles at Live With Regis & Kathie Lee and The Sally Jessy Raphael Show. She is in regular contact with key producers from outlets such as “Today” and “Extra”, and has had numerous national and local placements.     A true go-getter, Amy has worked on the production side of broadcast at NBC News as well as in the nationally-recognized health system Continuum Health Partners, a group of New York City hospitals including Beth Israel Medical Center, St. Luke’s Hospital and Roosevelt Hospital.   • Alex Crookshanks

    Branding and Multimedia Design

    Alex has been creating art since the age of four when he carved a star into his parents’ TV cabinet. Years later, he redesigned his middle school’s logo. To allay his parent’s fears of him becoming a starving artist, Alex earned a degree in Graphic Design along with a degree in Studio Art. Over the past 25 years, his work for university research institutes, laboratories and companies has been seen locally, nationally and internationally on publications, educational materials, packaging, billboards and signage. As a multimedia visual artist, designer and branding expert, Alex’s talent, experience and commitment to collaboration enable him to visually tell the stories of clients through print, digital, and motion graphics.​

  • Amy Cuccia

    Office Manager

    With Six Sigma training, Amy has extensive experience managing and supporting fast-paced teams. In her previous roles, Amy assisted in the management of budgetary and financial goals, supported human resources efforts and edited/provided quality control for legal documentation, among other responsibilities. Amy holds a degree in marine science from Stockton University, and joins the TellMed team with an eagerness to both contribute to the overall health of the company and learn about healthcare communications and media relations.   • Lauren Fabrizio

    Account Manager/Social Media

    Lauren is committed to building awareness of healthcare brands by helping them tell their stories in print, online, and broadcast media. Prior to joining TellMed, she managed media relations for a substance use disorder treatment facility, acquiring clips in regional publications as well as larger healthcare outlets, including WebMD and Lauren holds a bachelor’s degree in literature and American studies from Ramapo College and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Public Relations and Strategic Communications at Ball State University.

  • Amanda Flood

    Account Manager/Social Media

    With attention to detail, contagious enthusiasm and a genuine spirit of service, Amanda plays a critical role in supporting social media efforts for several TellMed clients, and has shown success in boosting their social media engagement and elevating visibility. She also has extensive experience leading teams and developing internal communications programs. Prior to joining TellMed, Amanda developed and implemented internal educational programs for employees at Boehringer Ingelheim in Danbury, CT. In addition to initiating awareness programs for health issues related to cardiology and nutrition, Amanda has also developed multi-lingual tools for employee onboarding procedures and corporate employee manuals.   • Kristen Rose Jutras

    Account Supervisor

    Kristin brings over 15 years experience in science communications, marketing, and publishing to TellMed Strategies. For the past 4 years, Kristin was the Communications and Creative Services Director at the Fralin Life Sciences Institute at Virginia Tech; she led a team of science writers, graphic designers, and videographers. Kristin has extensive experience developing strategic marketing plans, press releases, social media and media relations plans, videos, and magazines. Kristin attended Stanford University and received a B.A. in English Literature and Communications with a minor in Biological Sciences. She received a M.F.A. in Writing and Communications from Fairfield University. Kristin has worked in science publishing and marketing at Pearson Education, Yale University, The New York Times Digital, and Virginia Tech.

  • Emily Pihlquist


    Emily is a seasoned public relations practitioner specializing in brand communications across the healthcare spectrum. She has extensive experience in a number of therapeutic categories such as mental health including tobacco cessation, addiction, pain, ADHD, depression and schizophrenia, women’s health, and cardiovascular disease. Her pharmaceutical experience spans both Rx and OTC for a client roster that has included J&J, Merck, Eli Lilly and Co., GSK, Novo Nordisk, BMS, Shire and Pfizer. Emily has managed communications for every regulatory milestone including approvals and launches, advisory committee hearings, label changes, recalls and line extensions.     Account Manager/Social Media

    Coming to TellMed with a background in journalism, David is a strong writer and overall communicator. He previously freelanced for the Record-Journal and interned with the Quinnipiac University Public Affairs Office. He holds an undergraduate degree in journalism from Quinnipiac University, and will earn his master’s degree in public relations this Spring.

  • Kelly Swaney

    Graphic and Digital Marketing Support

    With a background in project management and client service, Kelly managed client relationships while in her roles at Vanguard and SEI Investments. In these roles, she developed excellent active listening skills, an attention to detail and keen problem-solving capabilities, as well as strong time management abilities and an appreciation for the importance of communication and design. Having honed her innate artistic and writing talents, Kelly currently develops content and graphics for social media, marketing materials and PowerPoint presentations. Kelly received her undergraduate degree in business from The University of Alabama.
